Burnout

Even the MUSE needs a break..

OPENS TONIGHT · 7 PM ET

Pepe lies on a red and white chevron roof, eyes half closed, as flames rise from the word MUSE

It's been a long few months.. heads down, hands busy. A move to a new place. A few challenges along the way. Here he is.. tired, maybe relieved, stretched out on the roof while the MUSE burns quietly beside him. This one is a breath. Soon.. back to regularly scheduled programming.

Questions & how to mint

How minting works

  1. You open the Manifold page for Burnout. Check the address bar reads manifold.xyz.
  2. You connect your wallet. Connecting only shares your public address.. it moves nothing.
  3. You choose how many, then press Mint.
  4. Your wallet shows one transaction. Read it before you sign: the network should read Ethereum, and the artwork is 0.00222 ETH, plus the transaction.
  5. You confirm. The edition is minted from Side Notes by Nikxname, 0x42db40afb8ec151a053d304a433b0da99d932786, straight into your wallet.
  6. It is viewable in your Garden, and on platforms like OpenSea. Nothing else is ever signed.
What is an open edition?

There is no fixed number. Everyone who collects during the window receives one.. then it closes, and no more can ever be minted.

What does it cost?

0.00272 ETH per mint, all-in with Manifold’s fee (about $6.36).

Why does gas vary?

Ethereum mainnet gas rises when the network is busy. Your wallet shows the exact total before you confirm.. nothing is charged until you sign.

What is an ERC-1155 edition?

Every copy is the same work. No edition numbers, no better or worse copy.. just Burnout.

Why mint two?

Burning uses up one Burnout. If you want both works, mint two.. burn one, keep one.

Why Manifold?

Manifold is the contract tooling many artists trust. The contract is mine.. Manifold provides the mint page and checkout. Their fee keeps it running. You sign on Manifold’s own page, where your wallet knows exactly where it is. It’s the safest door.

What does burning do?

Burning destroys one Burnout forever and mints the second work to your wallet in the same transaction. It cannot be undone. It doesn’t touch anything else in your wallet, and you never have to burn. The first burn asks for a one-time approval for Manifold’s Burn Redeem extension on this collection only.

Do I need to burn right away?

No. The window for the second chapter will be shared at the reveal.

Is this part of A Familiar Burn?

No. Burnout is a Side Note by Nikxname, on its own contract, open from 7pm today until 10pm Sunday Nov 1st.

What happens at the burn?

Once the mint closes, you can burn one Burnout to redeem Afterglow, the Version 2 counterpart. Don't redeem, and it stays Burnout forever.

How to check it's real

Open the contract on Etherscan. The contract name reads Side Notes by Nikxname, and it was deployed by the same wallet that holds the other contracts. The window is Oct 29, 7 PM ET to Nov 1, 10 PM ET. Match the address, 0x42db40afb8ec151a053d304a433b0da99d932786, against the one in your wallet's transaction screen, character for character.

La Maison takes care of its patrons.. If anything feels unclear, before or after you mint, leave a subject for the Desk, or reply on X to @Nikxname. We never message first.
